How Meshuga processes your personal data, in line with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP).

Data and purposes (reservation)
To manage your booking (basis: contract performance, art. 31 nFADP; no consent needed) we process: name, email, phone, party size, date and time, notes, and a possible card imprint (no-show guarantee). Confirmation and reminder messages are part of this service, not marketing.
Contact form and customer feedback
When you write to us via the contact form or answer our satisfaction survey, we process the information you provide (name, email, any phone number, message or feedback, ratings) only to reply to you and improve our service. These details are never sold. Traffic on the feedback page is measured anonymously, without cookies. You can ask us to delete this data at any time.
Marketing and loyalty (separate consent)
With your distinct consent (opt-in, never pre-ticked, with no effect on your booking), we send you marketing communications (email/SMS via our provider Brevo) and may personalise them based on your history and preferences. You can withdraw this consent at any time, as easily as you gave it.
Card guarantee
Handled by a PCI-DSS certified payment provider; we do not store your full card number, only a token. It serves only as a guarantee and is charged only if a fee is due (Art. 5.2 of the booking terms).
Health data (allergies, diets)
This is sensitive data (art. 5 nFADP). It is used only to prepare your meal safely, never for marketing, and is deleted shortly after your visit.
Recipients and transfers
Your data is shared with our processors: booking platform, POS, email/SMS tool, payment provider. Some process data in the EU/EEA (countries Switzerland deems adequate). If a provider outside an adequate area is used, appropriate safeguards apply (standard clauses or a recognised framework). The list of processors is available on request.
Retention
Booking: duration of the booking plus approx. 12 months; records tied to a financial transaction (no-show fee, invoice): 10 years (art. 958f CO); card token: the booking window; CRM profile (if opted in): while the relationship is active; health data: shortly after the visit; consent proof: consent duration plus 3 years.
Your rights (nFADP)
Access, rectification, deletion (within legal limits), objection to marketing and withdrawal of consent at any time, portability where applicable. To exercise them: smala@meshuga.ch (reply normally within 30 days) or the unsubscribe link in marketing messages. You may also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
Automated decisions
No decision producing legal effects or significantly affecting you is made on a purely automated basis; any adverse booking decision involves a human.

Essential cookies need no consent; analytics/marketing cookies are governed by the site's consent banner. The booking module may also set cookies.
