Booking Terms
Last updated: 7 July 2026 · Version 1.1
We're glad to have you. So everything runs smoothly, here are the rules that govern your reservation.
Art. 1 · Parties and scope
These terms (the "Terms") govern any table reservation at the Meshuga restaurant, operated by La Voisine SA (UID CHE-103.075.443), 8 rue du 31-Décembre, 1207 Geneva ("Meshuga", "we"). They bind the person making the reservation ("you"), acting for themselves and their whole table. Reservations are made online, via the booking platform accessible from meshuga.ch. For large tables (more than 8 guests) and special requests (private hire, events), email us (smala@meshuga.ch). The booking platform is a technical provider: it is not a party to the contract and is not responsible for the restaurant service.
Art. 2 · Formation of the contract
Your request is an offer. The contract is formed when we send you a confirmation (email or SMS). Until you receive it, no table is guaranteed. A reservation is a contract: a no-show engages your liability (Art. 5).
Art. 3 · Acceptance of the Terms
Online booking requires express acceptance of these Terms (checkbox) before the request is sent. The version that applies is the one in force and accepted at the time of booking.
Art. 4 · Table size and large groups
Online booking is limited to 8 covers. For more than 8 guests, email smala@meshuga.ch: such tables are subject to separate conditions (deposit, group menu, specific cancellation terms) communicated and accepted before confirmation.
Art. 5 · Cancellation, changes and no-show
5.1 You may cancel or change free of charge up to 24 h before the booked time, via the link in your confirmation or by email to smala@meshuga.ch.
5.2 For a cancellation less than 24 h before, a late reduction in covers, or a no-show, a fee of CHF 15 per cover applies, only for bookings of 4 guests or more (no fee below 4 covers). For a late reduction, the fee applies to the removed covers if the original booking was for at least 4 guests.
5.3 This fee is a liquidated-damages amount (contractual penalty, art. 160 ff. CO) compensating the lost table. It is not the price of a service and is not subject to VAT.
5.4 Card guarantee. A card imprint may be requested at booking, as a guarantee. The card is not charged at that point; it is charged only if a fee under 5.2 is due, after the missed service. Card processing is handled by a secure payment provider (see our privacy notice).
5.5 Late arrival. Your table is held 15 minutes past the booked time. After that, with no word from you, we may reassign the table and treat the booking as a no-show (5.2). Please let us know if you're running late.
Art. 6 · Hours and slots (launch phase)
Tuesday and Wednesday: lunch 12:00-14:00, dinner 19:00-00:00. Thursday, Friday, Saturday: lunch 12:00-14:00, dinner 19:00-01:00. Closed Sunday and Monday. Last lunch booking: 13:15. Dinner: first table 19:00, last booking 21:00. Hours may change; those in force on the day of service prevail.
Art. 7 · Changes or cancellation by us
In case of force majeure, unforeseen closure or an operational incident, we may cancel or move your reservation. We will inform you as soon as possible and offer a new date or table; failing that, any deposit paid is refunded. Our liability is then limited to refunding the deposit, subject to Art. 10.
Art. 8 · Allergies and diets
Tell us about any allergy or intolerance before or when ordering. We do our utmost to accommodate them, but our kitchen handles many ingredients and we cannot guarantee the complete absence of traces or cross-contamination. Your health information is used only to prepare your meal (see our privacy notice).
Art. 9 · Prices, VAT, service and tips
Prices are in Swiss francs, VAT included (on-premise catering, 8.1%). Service is included; tipping is optional. The applicable price is the one in force on the day of service. A deposit applied to a meal actually served is part of the price and subject to VAT, unlike no-show fees (Art. 5.3).
Art. 10 · Liability
Our liability is assessed within the limits of Swiss law; under art. 100 CO, no limitation applies in cases of gross negligence or intent. The cloakroom is unattended: keep your valuables with you. Our liability for items not handed to staff is excluded within legal limits.
Art. 11 · House rules, alcohol and minors
We may refuse or stop service for inappropriate behaviour. Under Geneva law, we do not serve spirits to minors or fermented drinks (wine, beer) to anyone under 16, and may ask for ID. Smoking is not allowed indoors.
Art. 12 · Personal data
The processing of your data is described in our privacy notice. Reservation data and the card imprint are used to manage your booking. Any marketing or loyalty (CRM) use requires your separate, freely given and revocable consent.
Art. 13 · Changes, severability, entire agreement
We may amend these Terms; the version applying to your reservation is the one accepted at booking, with no retroactive effect. An invalid clause does not invalidate the others and is replaced by the closest valid provision. These Terms and the confirmation form the entire agreement.
Art. 14 · Governing law and forum
Swiss law. Forum in Geneva (seat of La Voisine SA), subject to the mandatory consumer forum (art. 32 and 35 CPC): if you act as a consumer, you keep the forum of your domicile and cannot waive it in advance.
